Winemaker Dustin Osborne

Dustin Osborne, Winemaker and General Manager at Aaldering Vineyards & Wines, is an enthusiastic 29-year old winemaker who devoted his life to wine as of age 16 and now represents the new generation of highly skilled young professional winemakers from South Africa. He developed his untameable work ethic growing up on a farm in Brandfort, near Bloemfontein, South Africa. Born to a South African mother and a New Zealand father he captured the best of both worlds by crossing the Indian Ocean to study Viticulture and Oenology at the renowned Lincoln University in Christchurch.
To become the versatile winemaker that Dustin is, he travelled around the world to volunteer and work at well-known and intriguing wineries like Villa Maria Estate (Marlborough, New Zealand), Jordan Vineyards & Wines (California, USA), Burrowing Owl Vineyards (British Columbia, Canada), and Peregrine Wines (Central Otego, New Zealand). Within South Africa he gained experience at renowned wineries like Villiera, Joostenberg Wines, Delheim Wines, and for the last 4 years Dustin was the head winemaker for Mont Rochelle Mountain Vineyards in Franschhoek.
Osbornes signature is to make wines with classic elegance and longevity while maintaining the intensity of the excellent fruit from our Devon Valley Vineyard, For Dustin the passion of winemaking is in tasting ans blending the wine to an elegant piece of art, portraying a sense of place, and which evolves delicately as the wine ages.
Dustin is the heart and soul of the Aaldering Vineyards & Wines winemaking philosophy and his signature will be tasted in every bottle of Aaldering wine.
