Aaldering Pinotage 2007, Aaldering Vineyards & Wines
Origin: Devon Valley South Africa
Grapes: 100% Pinotage
Alcohol percentage: 15%.
Aging: 24 months on new French oak barrels.
-
Color: intense purple color with maroon shades around the edges, very dense and compact drop of tears, the tears actually hardly seem to drop.
-
Aromas: in the nose very intense aromas, very mineral at first, then hints of charcoal and graphite as well as matured jammy black fruits. Immediately after letting the wine breathe a bit there appear some toasted aromas like toffee, caramel and cafe latte.
-
Tasting notes: a lovable first impression, almost greedy, thick mouth feel, very rich, fleshy, intense, and an unexpected combination of rich fruit and minerals in the aftertaste. A warm finish but surprisingly pleasant and in balance. Very important to chill this wine and serve it with a temperature of around 10 degrees C.
Recommended RSP (Retail Selling Price) between 20 - 30 Euros.
